Travellers can apply online for an eVisa to visit South Africa for Business or Tourism. Once approved, travellers receive their eVisa confirmation electronically.

Travellers can apply for a South Africa Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to enter South Africa through OR Tambo International Airport, Cape Town International Airport, or Lanseria International Airport.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old. A smartphone is required to take a selfie and scan your passport during the application process.

Once approved, travellers receive their eTA confirmation electronically. An eTA is valid for 12 months for multiple entries of up to 90 days per visit.

Travellers need a valid passport to enter South Africa. The traveller's passport must remain valid for at least 30 days after the traveller departs from South Africa.

Travellers under 18 years must submit parental consent letters, birth certificates, and other supporting documents as part of their visa application. Once a valid visa is issued, these documents do not need to be presented again at ports of entry. However, unaccompanied minors must produce all required documents regardless of having a valid visa.

Travellers are recommended to complete a travel declaration form online before entering South Africa.
Completion of the electronic traveller declaration is voluntary during the pilot phase of the system.

Travellers require proof of a ticket showing their entrance and exit from South Africa.

• Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B vaccines;
• Typhoid vaccine for visits to smaller cities or rural areas;
• Routine vaccines including Measles.
