Mexico visa requirements for Indian citizens
Travellers need a visa to visit Mexico for Business or Tourism.
Travellers must obtain a paper or embassy visa from an embassy, consulate or visa center before travelling.
This visa requirement doesn’t apply to the following travellers:
- Travellers with a valid visa issued by Canada, United States, Japan, United Kingdom, or Schengen Member States
- Travellers with a valid permanent residence permit from Chile and Colombia
- Travellers who are permanent residents of United States, Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, or a country in the Schengen Area.
Minors (travellers under 18 years old) only need a valid passport and to meet their nationality’s migration requirements. If the minor’s visa is requested by only one parent, a notarized authorization from the other parent is required.
For minors or those with legal guardianship who attend alone, or with someone other than their parents or guardians, their parents or guardians must sign a notarized document authorizing the visa application.

Travellers visiting the state of Baja California Sur for more than 24 hours are required to pay a tourism tax of MXN 488.00.
This requirement doesn’t apply to the following travellers:
- Travellers visiting other states in Mexico
- Mexican nationals.
The payment can be made online before arriving in Mexico. A QR code receipt will be issued as proof of payment and may be requested at entry or exit points.
